Smarttemp Review

The life of a mum: kids, fever and cough  oh well, that's life isn't it? There are days of ups and downs   Let's just enjoy the ride  So the daughter has got another bout of coughs, this time like every other time, we don't know how and where she caught it from.. Last evening she was a little cranky pants, checked that she had a slight fever at 37.6 degrees (10pm before bedtime). I didn't want to administer fever medication straight away, so we stuck on the Smarttemp and turned on the App on my phone to set the alarm to ring if her temp went above 38.5. We all went to sleep, and as you can see, her fever did not go up, alarm did not ring and we all managed to get a good night's sleep and awoke fresh for a new day! If not for the Smarttemp, I would have had to set my alarm clock to ring every few hours through the night to wake up and take her temperature! Thank you Smarttemp! You are indeed a "sleep-saver"!

What causes viral infections? Viruses are capsules with genetic material inside. They are very tiny, much smaller than bacteria. Viruses cause familiar infectious diseases such as the common cold, flu and warts. They also cause severe illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, smallpox and hemorrhagic fevers. Viruses are like hijackers. They invade living, normal cells and use those cells to multiply and produ ce other viruses like themselves. This eventually kills the cells, which can make you sick. Viral infections are hard to treat because viruses live inside your body's cells. They are "protected" from medicines, which usually move through your bloodstream. Antibiotics do not work for viral infections. There are a few antiviral medicines available. Vaccines can help prevent you from getting many viral diseases. Your child is human too

“So often, children are punished for being human. They are not allowed to have grumpy moods, bad days, disrespectful tones, or bad attitudes. Yet, we adults have them all the time. None of us are perfect. We must stop holding our children to a higher standard of perfection than we can attain ourselves.” https://www.mother.ly/child/your-child-is-human-too

Smarttemp is easy to use

When Fever strikes, smarttemp provides parents a new high tech way to continuously monitor a child’s temperature through a smartphone.  Using Bluetooth technology, a parent can keep baby close, but not disturb them when checking their temperature. Using a traditional digital thermometer requires parents to frequently monitor their children’s temperature manually, and especially at night. This often comes with stress, sleeplessness and exhaustion to parents and often causes the babies to feel uncomfortable and resistant. Here’s an easier solution. Smarttemp is a smart Bluetooth thermometer designed for children where a parent can: ·          continuously monitor body temperature in real time through their smartphone. ·          Get alerts when the temperature rises beyond the threshold and ·          Receive medicine reminders when it’s time for another dosage. ·          Parents can also share the temperature graph with their Doctor. The Smarttemp is the easiest way to tra

My daughter

A has fever again. She had been well since the last fever bout, spent the morning with family and she started to say she was tired. When we got home after lunch, she complained "Mama I got fever", took her temp and true enough, it was 37.4C. She said she wanted to sleep so I stuck on the smarttemp before sending her to bed. Looks like her fever went up hitting the 38.5C threshold twice (alarm sounded) and now coming down. I love how I can monitor her temp without disturbing her much needed rest n sleep. Just check the smarttemp app on my phone is such a breeze versus using an in-ear or armpit thermometer which would definitely wake her up. Get well soon my dear girl! 💪🏼

Fever

Fever  (also known as pyrexia or controlled hyperthermia) is when a human's body temperature goes above the normal range of 36-37C - it is a common medical sign. People's normal body temperatures may vary and are affected by factors such as eating, exercise, sleeping and what time of the day it is. An elevated body temperature (fever) is one of the ways our immune system attempts to combat an infection. Usually, the rise in body temperature helps the individual resolve an infe ction. However, sometimes it may rise too high, in which case the fever can be serious and lead to complications. Children with a high temperature may develop a febrile seizure, also known as a febrile fit or febrile convulsion, most of which are not serious and may be the result of an ear infection, gastroenteritis, or a respiratory virus (a cold). Less commonly, febrile seizures may be caused by something more serious, such as meningitis, a kidney infection or pneumonia.
